We are excited to share that at yesterday's October 19th regularly scheduled Board of Education Meeting, new changes to our Transitional Kindergarten (TK) enrollment process were approved based on California Assembly Bill 130, which now make it easier than ever for families to enroll their students in TK. All TK enrollments will now occur at students’ neighborhood school sites. Additionally, there is a new, expanded birth date eligibility range that allows more students to qualify for TK!
Unity Day, which was first recognized in October 2011, is a trademark event of National Bullying Prevention Month. Sponsored by Pacer’s National Bullying Prevention Center, individuals, schools, and businesses are encouraged to celebrate Unity Day by wearing orange to unite against bullying and for a more compassionate environment.
We are excited to share that the Conejo Valley’s first Spanish-English Dual Language Immersion Program arrives August 2022! DLI is a research-proven instructional approach that prepares students to think, read and write in two languages, resulting in students becoming bilingual, biliterate and bicultural. Students beginning kindergarten in the 2022-2023 school year are eligible to be a part of the CVUSD’s first class of English-Spanish DLI learners. Attend an upcoming virtual, information session to learn more!
We are proud to honor our exceptional administrators and their invaluable contributions in fostering student achievement and leading our schools to success. We are so thankful for our school administrators all year through, and we hope the whole Conejo community will join us in celebrating them this Week of the School Administrator: October 10th through October 16th!
In the Conejo Valley Unified School District we are proud to inspire a lifelong love of learning in our youngest students. At CVUSD every student is empowered by their own learning.
