Abby M., a 10th grade student at Newbury Park High School, has been selected to represent Newbury Park, CA as a National Youth Correspondent to the 2022 Washington Journalism and Media Conference at George Mason University. Abby joins a select group of students from all over the country for an intensive study of journalism and media. She was chosen based on academic accomplishments and a demonstrated interest and excellence in journalism and media studies.
Families of high school students are invited to learn more about the AVID program for the 2022-2023 school year. This informational meeting about the AVID program at our CVUSD comprehensive high schools is scheduled for Thursday, March 10th via zoom. There will be an English language session and a Spanish language session. AVID is a student-centered program designed to close the opportunity gap by preparing all students for college, career, and life.
CVUSD Child Care is proud to offer 2022 Summer Camp programs for children in grades K-5 at four CVUSD elementary school locations. Registration for current CVUSD Child Care families is March 7 through March 11. Registration for all other families begins on March 14.

Today, Monday, February 28, Governor Newsom’s Administration announced the State’s requirement for student masking in schools will expire at 11:59pm Friday, March 11, 2022. Therefore, beginning on Monday March 14, 2022, students are no longer required to wear a mask at school, regardless of vaccination status. Students may opt to wear a mask and masks will remain available. It is important to note that masks remain required, while indoors, on our CVUSD campuses through the end of the school day on Friday, March 11, 2022.
