Children helping children is at the core of CVUSD Child Care’s philanthropic campaign. Throughout the month of December, Lang Ranch Elementary and EARThS Magnet School Child Care students, their families, and staff members have been actively collecting donations for children admitted at Los Robles Hospital Pediatrics Unit, PICU and Emergency Room. Each month the “Kids Caring 4 Kids” Campaign rotates to a new CVUSD Child Care location, for a year round partnership to benefit kids from kids.
In honor of National Inclusive Schools Week, which Conejo Valley Unified School District celebrated from December 6th to December 10th, the District put out a call to the CVUSD community to shine a light on our Inclusion Heroes. Inclusion Heroes are CVUSD teachers, staff members, and administrators who go above and beyond to create a community of inclusivity, kindness, and respect to enhance the learning for ALL students. Inclusion Heroes have a passion for ensuring all students have access and opportunity - and who turn this passion into action by modeling inclusivity in their day to day work.
More than 70 nominations of incredible, dedicated professionals were submitted, and we are proud to recognize the following five individuals as our 2021 Inclusion Heroes...
The week of December 6-10, 2021 is National Inclusive Schools Week. All year through, but especially this week, CVUSD celebrates our commitment to providing supportive and quality education to ALL students. We recognize each child is unique and when differences are celebrated, a community of inclusivity, kindness and respect results, which enhances learning for all.
CDE is pleased to share that starting December 1, myON digital library and news articles can be accessed for FREE by all pre-K to grade 12 students in California for two months. All books downloaded during this time are able to be kept and accessed afterwards. As part of State Superintendent Tony Thurmond's literacy initiative, the CDE has partnered with Renaissance Learning to ensure that every California student can access thousands of reading resources from 12/1/21 to 2/28/22 *new date.
