U.S. Secretary of Education, John B. King, Jr., announced today that Conejo Valley Unified School District’s EARTHS (Environmental Academy of Research Technology and Earth Sciences) Magnet Elementary School has been named a 2016 National Blue Ribbon Schools based on its overall academic excellence.

District finishes the 2015-16 school year in good financial health

The District began the 2015-16 school year on July 1, 2015 with a fund balance of $9,048,505 and finished the 2015-16 school year on June 30, 2016 with a fund balance of $22,125,022 helped by a one-time $10.5 million “block grant” from the State. Staff is currently evaluating how these block grant funds can best be used to support District goals as required to support the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP)
