CVUSD is proud to celebrate National Teacher Appreciation Week this May 1st-7th. California Education Code Section 37222 designates May 1-7, 2022, as "National Teacher Appreciation Week" as a means of expressing appreciation to the state's teachers, instructors, professors, and other educators. Our phenomenal CVUSD teachers are the foundation of our incredible schools and we are so grateful for them each and every day - and we are especially proud to highlight them this week!
National Mental Health Month is a time to raise awareness of those living with mental or behavioral health issues and provide the resources to assist them to get the help they need. Conejo Valley Unified School District recognizes the social-emotional and mental health needs of students and families. We remain committed to serving our student community in these important areas.
Malinda Young makes content come to life for her students. She uses the newest trends and creates engaging games and activities to make learning mathematics fun! An educator at Sycamore Canyon School for more than 17 years she is a well-respected member of the teaching team. We and the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce are proud to recognize Ms. Young as the May 2022 Teacher of the Month!
All CVUSD families and students are invited to: Surviving the College Admission Emotional Roller Coaster, a free workshop on Wednesday, April 27th at 6pm that will be led by the Westlake High School Counseling team and Dr. Samantha Tamburro of Engage Psychological Services. This event will discuss the important topic of how to manage the mixed emotions of college decision season (excitement, celebration, stress, disappointment, etc.) and offer advice on how students can cope with these challenges.
