Newbury Park High School educator Lorena Caulfield is a genuine example of why NPHS also stands for “Nice People High School.” She embodies every aspect of the school, and she has been influential in creating a positive culture on campus. Throughout her 18-year tenure at the school, she has taught Health, Spanish, Geography & Career Choices, Sports Medicine, ROP Sports Medicine, and ROP Medical Terminology. In collaboration with the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce, we are proud to recognize Ms. Caulfield as our January 2020 Teacher of the Month!

Education Opportunities for Families with Young Children Available at Horizon Hills

The Parent Education Program & Cooperative Learning Environment at Horizon Hills, part of Conejo Valley Unified School District’s Adult School, is a play-based program where the parents learn right along with their children.  The Cooperative Learning Environment features dedicated, age-appropriate rooms and yards for families with infants, toddlers, two year olds, and 3-5 year olds. Initial registration for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year begins in March/April and continues until classes are full.

CVUSD Neighborhood School Registration Begins January 21st

Enrollment for students in Kindergarten through grade 12 for the 2020-2021 School Year begins on January 21, 2020! Starting on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, K-12 families may begin the Online Pre-Enrollment process at: Please note that completing the Online Pre-Enrollment paperwork is one step of the enrollment process. After completing the Online Pre-Enrollment paperwork, families must electronically submit, print, and bring the documents along with identification and proof of residency to the front office of their assigned CVUSD neighborhood school in order to complete the remaining enrollment process. For families that do not have access to a computer, all required enrollment paperwork may be picked up from the front office of their assigned CVUSD neighborhood school.

Community Opportunity: Attend a Free Screening of the Film "Intelligent Lives"

On Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at 6pm there will be a free screening of the film "Intelligent Lives" at the Thousand Oaks High School Performing Arts Center. "Intelligent Lives," stars three pioneering young American adults with intellectual disabilities - who challenge perceptions of intelligence as they navigate high school, college, and the workforce. 

Thousand Oaks High School to Receive Sustainable Outdoor Learning Environment (SOLE)

Thanks to a generous donation from Schneider Electric, Thousand Oaks High School will receive a Sustainable Outdoor Learning Environment (SOLE), which will be used as an outdoor Science and STEM instructional space that is entirely operated on renewable power, and not tied to any utility power grid. This SOLE is the first to be received by a school district in California, and serves as another great example of next generation learning.
