CVUSD Prepares 10,000 New Chromebooks for 1:1 Technology Initiative

Technology Services is actively configuring over 10,000 Samsung Chromebooks to support CVUSD's 1:1 Chromebook initiative.  These Chromebooks will supplement the Lenovo, HP, and Dell Chromebooks that are already in students hands.  In order to ensure equitable access to technology, all students in grades TK-12 will be given access to a Chromebook .

While participating in virtual learning during the 2020-2021 school year, Newbury Park High School student Giovanni Albarez couldn’t help but look at the Measure I sticker on his CVUSD chromebook and wonder what exactly Measure I entailed and how it was more broadly benefiting students. When the opportunity arose for a member of the 2021-2022 Student District Advisory Committee (SDAC) to serve as the first student representative on the Measure I Bond Oversight Committee as Albarez puts it he “knew I was the guy for it.”

Dr. Isaac Huang of Madroña Elementary Named “CALSA Honoring Our Own State Principal of the Year”

Congratulations to Dr. Isaac Huang, Principal of Madroña Elementary School, who has been selected to receive the “CALSA Honoring Our Own State Principal of the Year” recognition from the California Association of Latino Superintendents and Administrators (CALSA)! CALSA is a community of diverse educational leaders skilled in addressing the needs of Latina/o/x students. Each year, CALSA recognizes its members who have made significant contributions to eliminating the Latina/o/x student achievement gap. This year Dr. Huang was selected as the “CALSA Honoring Our Own State Principal of the Year” for his distinguished leadership and excellence.
