Congratulations Eric Levy of Westlake High School – CVUSD’s September Teacher of the Month
Eric Levy is a dedicated, fierce advocate for all students. He is a Special Education teacher at Westlake High School, and we are proud to call him our 2019 September Teacher of the Month.
Mr. Levy, an educator at Westlake High School for more than twelve years, is a caring mentor and trusted colleague who others look to for advice when working with struggling students. He helps ensure students are placed in classes that provide an appropriate level of challenge and rigor, and that struggling students remain in classes and activities in which they are experiencing success and fulfillment. His classroom showcases high-quality student work, and his students work bell-to-bell on meaningful tasks with real world application.
Mr. Levy works tirelessly to elevate the teaching profession as one that is committed to doing what is best for students of all abilities and needs. He consistently addresses students directly, engaging them from the beginning with a genuine passion in their interests. He welcomes parents’ questions, and gives guidance on educational pathways.
Mr. Levy also goes above and beyond by dedicating countless hours volunteering for extra duty assignments that benefit the entire school. He is a true team player who plans and contributes to many events that support his students and colleagues.
To celebrate Mr. Levy’s September Teacher of the Month recognition, members of the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce, Jeanne Valentine, CVUSD Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, Dr. Lisa Miller, CVUSD Assistant Superintendent of Student Services, and CVUSD Board Members presented him with a commemorative plaque in a surprise ceremony on Wednesday, September 18th.
Thank you Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce and congratulations Mr. Levy!
