Congratulations to Linda Gomberg, CVUSD’s 2019 Teacher of the Year!

The Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Conejo Valley Unified School District are proud to announce CVUSD’s 2019 Teacher of the Year, Ms. Linda Gomberg of Be Me Preschool. Ms. Gomberg, who received the distinction of September 2018-2019 Teacher of the Month, has been a Special Day Class Teacher at CVUSD’s Special Education Preschool for 25 years. She provides special education programs and related services for students ages 3 to 5 years-old.  

Currently, Mrs. Gomberg is a mentor teacher for CVUSD post-secondary program students through the Workability Program, providing training around early childhood education and assisting in developing job skills for future employment opportunities. She also co-facilities monthly school-wide field trips, facilitates guest speakers for parents of preschool students with disabilities, and is actively involved in leading the curriculum development at the Be Me Preschool. 

Ms. Gomberg provides students and their parents with a warm and welcoming environment. She invites parents and their children to visit her classroom, presents overviews of the preschool program and curriculum, and introduces the support team and specialists. Her goals for students are to instill a love for learning, make progress in targeted IEP goals, master many age-expected preschool skills and concepts, as well as to build confidence, stimulate curiosity, and generalize their skills at home, as well as in community activities. Each day is filled with language-rich multi-modal instruction, targeted intervention to work on individual student learning goals, and engaging lessons centered on monthly thematic units. 

Ms. Gomberg is a person of high integrity who exhibits her core values and competence on a daily basis.She has demonstrated her commitment to improving instructional programs through her dedication and meticulous attention to student achievement. 

Ms. Gomberg will be publicly honored as the 2018-2019 CVUSD Teacher of the Year at an upcoming Board of Education meeting. On behalf of the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Conejo Unified School District, we applaud Ms. Gomberg on this distinction!
