CVUSD Hosts Principal for a Half Day Program
There were more than 45 “Principals in training” across CVUSD school sites today, as part of the annual Principal for a Half Day Program with community partner the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce.
This annual event gives Chamber of Commerce members and members of the local community the opportunity to shadow the principal of a local elementary, middle or high school to experience firsthand the profession of a principal at a Conejo Valley Unified school. Participants in this cost free event also had the opportunity to meet teachers, observe classrooms and tour their assigned school site.
Participants in this year’s program include employees from the City of Thousand Oaks, Conejo Recreation & Park District, Congresswoman Julia Brownley’s Office, and a variety of local businesses. Logix Federal Credit Union sponsored this year’s program.
The program included a lunch where brief remarks were heard from the Conejo Valley Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Mark McLaughlin and CVUSD Board of Education President Dr. Betsy Connolly.
The program concluded with participants sharing a bit about their personal experiences from their visits to CVUSD campuses. Participants shared their awe of the diverse academic program offerings, compassionate leadership, and state-of-the-art learning environments provided to students.
The Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce is one of the largest chambers in the state of California with over 900 business members, serving the cities of Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village and Agoura Hills.
Thank you to all Chamber of Commerce and community members who participated in the 2019 Principal for a Half Day Program! We are proud to share more about #TheConejoWay with local community and business leaders through special partnership events like this one.
