Sycamore Canyon School’s Haley Carroll Celebrated as CVUSD’s December Teacher of the Month
Haley Carroll recognizes the diverse needs of all students. She is a Technology and Spanish teacher, and a nine year veteran of Sycamore Canyon School, where she uses a variety of instructional strategies to engage the next generation of leaders.
Ms. Carroll is truly an asset to the Sycamore Canyon School students, parents, staff and colleagues where she treats each person with respect, and dignity – and Conejo Valey Unified School District along with the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce are proud to honor her as the December 2018 CVUSD Teacher of the Month!
She effectively incorporates technology into the classroom, using Flipgrid to increase student engagement and formative assessment, as well as Google Classroom, 3D printing and modeling, robotics, programming and basic typing skills lessons.
Ms. Carroll adds an element of challenging expectations across the curriculum to students of all abilities by using ACES, a GATE program that offers differentiated learning experiences in all academic areas and Visual/Performing Arts, the Lunchtime Discovery Series, where students learn about various professions in today’s world, and Art Enrichment to capture student creativity.
She provides students with a safe and caring learning environment, including an open door policy where students are able to ask for help, voice questions or concerns, print documents or complete schoolwork on computers as needed.
To celebrate Ms. Carroll’s December Teacher of the Month recognition members from the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce and CVUSD Superintendent, Dr. Mark McLaughlin presented her with a commemorative plaque recognizing her achievement at a special surprise celebration on Tuesday, December 11th. Additionally, members of the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce congratulated her with gifts from their local businesses.
Thank you Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce members and congratulations Ms. Carroll!
