School Choice Application for the 2019-2020 School Year - Available November 1, 2018
At Conejo Valley Unified School District we have a right fit for every student. For families who would like to enroll their student in a CVUSD school other than their assigned neighborhood school, this may be completed via the School Choice Application process.
On Thursday, November 1, 2018 at 8am, the School Choice Application for the 2019-2020 school year will be available for families to complete ONLINE.
School Choice Applications must be submitted by January 31, 2019 at 5pm in order to be considered “on time” and to be included in the lottery process.
Applications will still be accepted after January 31st. However, applications received after January 31st will be processed on a case by case basis (at schools where there is a wait list, applications received after January 31st will be placed on the bottom of the wait list in the order they are received).

Please note that the 2019-2020 School Choice Application timeline is taking place several months earlier than in past years, and it is important for families to plan accordingly. The School Choice Application timeline changes were approved by the Board of Education at the Tuesday, October 2, 2018 regularly scheduled meeting.
All of Conejo Valley Unified School District’s schools are considered Schools of Choice. As long as a school is not filled to its capacity with existing students and incoming neighborhood students, students living outside the neighborhood boundaries of a school may apply to enroll in that school. Schools may accept students via School Choice until they are filled to capacity. If there are more applications than there are available spots for interested students, the District will conduct a random lottery to select the number of students the school is able to accept.
All families interested in enrolling their children in Transitional Kindergarten must also fill out a School Choice Application. Students born between September 2, 2014 and December 2, 2014 are eligible for TK only. Students born between July 1, 2014 and September 1, 2014 are eligible for either TK or Kindergarten (A School Choice application is not needed for students attending Kindergarten at their assigned Neighborhood School).
The majority of Conejo Valley Unified School District’s 18,500 students attend their neighborhood school via the Neighborhood School Enrollment process, which begins on January 21, 2019. A families’ neighborhood school is assigned based on their address of residency. To determine the assigned neighborhood school, please use the District’s “Street Index” and “School Locator” map.
