Apply to Serve on CVUSD's Measure I Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee

The Conejo Valley Unified School District is seeking qualified, interested community members to serve on the Independent Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee for the implementation of the District’s Measure I school facilities bond program.

Measure I is a $197M bond measure that authorizes funding for needed repairs, upgrades, and new construction projects to the District’s schools. The bond passed in November 2014 with a voter approval of 65.28%, which is more than 10% above the supermajority requirement of 55%.

“We are at a very exciting time of the Measure I process with projects underway that will greatly modernize and update our school facilities,” said Dr. Victor Hayek, Assistant Superintendent of Business Services. “This is a fantastic opportunity for community members to be a part of the great things happening in the CVUSD schools.”

Key responsibilities of the Committee include keeping informed about the expenditure of Measure I bond proceeds, reviewing expenditure reports, and presenting an annual written report to the Board.

The Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee meets approximately four times annually, with meetings typically taking place in the afternoon. Each committee member serves a two-year term, commencing at the date of appointment by the Board of Education.
