Walnut Elementary & Westlake High Receive Honor Roll Recognition from ERP
Walnut Elementary School and Westlake High School have been named to the 2017-2018 Educational Results Partnership Honor Roll for their high achievement and student success. The program, sponsored by the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence (CBEE), is part of a national effort to identify schools and districts with high performance that are improving student outcomes. Walnut Elementary and Westlake High are two of 1,798 public schools in California to be recognized.
The 2017 - 2018 Honor Roll is developed by Educational Results Partnership (ERP), a nonprofit organization that applies data science to help improve student outcomes and career readiness. ERP maintains the nation’s largest database on student achievement and utilizes this data to identify higher-performing schools and districts. Schools that receive the ERP Honor Roll distinction have demonstrated consistent high levels of student academic achievement, improvement in achievement levels over time, and a reduction in achievement gaps among student populations. For high schools, the ERP Honor Roll recognition also includes measures of college readiness.
Common success factors in Honor Roll schools include clear, specific learning objectives aligned to college and career readiness, along with evidence-based instructional practices; establishing system-wide mission of college and career readiness for all students; investing in human capital; maintaining data and assessment systems to monitor school and student performance; and deploying resources and guidance to support schools’ efforts to prepare all students for college and career.
Congratulations Walnut Elementary and Westlake High on this recognition!
