March is Women's History Month

Each year, National Women's History Month offers an opportunity to honor the legacy of women who have built, shaped and improved the Nation. Celebrated in March, this annual event recognizes how throughout American history, women of every race, class and ethnic background have made vital contributions, often in the face of discrimination and undue hardship. CVUSD is proud to recognize the accomplishments of women through appropriate programs and activities this March, and all year through.

National Women's History Month began as a week-long observance celebrated the week of March 8, 1980, to honor the contributions women have made to our Nation and society.  That week was chosen to correspond with International Women's Day, which is March 8th.  The event was expanded to a month-long observance in 1987 on the approval of Public Law 100-9, and since that time each president has issued an annual proclamation designating March as Women's History Month.

At the Tuesday, February 15, 2022 Board of Education Meeting, the Board adopted Resolution #20/21-27: In Support of National Women's History Month, recognizing March 8, 2022, as International Women's Day, and the month of March 2022 as National Women's History Month in the Conejo Valley Unified School District.
