Shauna Ashmore Named CVUSD's New Director of Student Support Services
Shauna Ashmore was announced as the Conejo Valley Unified School District’s new Director of Student Support Services at the Tuesday, May 1st Board of Education Meeting for the Conejo Valley Unified School District.
Ms. Ashmore is a CVUSD veteran, with 16 years of dedicated service to the Conejo Valley – including her most recent, current role as the Principal of Redwood Middle School in Thousand Oaks.
Ms. Ashmore will begin her new role as Director of Student Support Services on July 1, 2018. In this role she will oversee and manage a variety of programs, and initiatives to support students’ well-being, safety, and overall academic enrichment experience.
“Ms. Ashmore is a thoughtful, and dedicated leader with a proven track record of enhancing successful outcomes for the students we serve,” said Dr. Mark McLaughlin, Superintendent of CVUSD. “We are proud to promote Ms. Ashmore to the Director of Student Support Services position, and we are excited to see her skill sets and passion for education benefit students across the Conejo.”
Ms. Ashmore began her tenure with CVUSD as a teacher at Los Cerritos Middle School. She has also held the Dean of Students, and Assistant Principal positions at Redwood Middle School. She holds a Master of Arts, Educational Administration degree from California State University, Northridge and a Bachelor of Science, Kinesiology degree from California State University, Northridge.
Ms. Ashmore will be replacing Dr. Juan Santos who, after 19 years of dedicated service to CVUSD, accepted the position of Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources in the Lawndale Elementary School District in Los Angeles.
