Westlake High Teacher Named March Teacher of the Month

The Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Conejo Valley Unified School District are teaming up to shine a light on educators with its 2017-2018 Teacher of the Month recognition program.

In a surprise celebration on Wednesday, March 7th, Lynne Kelsey of Westlake High School received the March Teacher of the Month recognition award! Ms. Kelsey is a valued member of the Westlake High School staff for the past 12 years while serving as an English teacher and a vital member of the Westlake High School Technology Committee.

Ms. Kelsey treats each staff member and student with the utmost respect, kindness and compassion while continuing to develop new and innovative methods to help enhance student learning.

She effectively utilizes differentiated instructional strategies to ensure that all students are engaged and able to grasp the concepts and perform at the highest levels on class assignments and assessments.

On a daily basis she provides an optimal learning environment for all students, including English learners, Special Education and GATE students, by incorporating a wide variety of technology in the classroom.

She continuously researches new ideas and teaching strategies that involve technology to ensure that her fellow department members and teachers are on the leading edge of instruction.

Ms. Kelsey is truly an asset to Westlake High School with her positive energy, dedication, and personal attention to help every student and colleague on campus.

To celebrate Ms. Kelsey’s Teacher of the Month recognition, members of the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce congratulated her with gifts from their local businesses, and CVUSD Superintendent Dr. Mark McLaughlin presented Ms. Kelsey with a commemorative plaque recognizing her achievement.
