Thousand Oaks High Student Wins Young Investors Society Shark Tank Contest

Cole, a senior at Thousand Oaks High School, was selected as the Grand Prize Winner of the 2020 YIS Shark Tank Contest hosted by the Young Investors Society. For the contest students entered videos, and writing submissions on how they would allocate $1,000,000 to the companies pitched in Season 11 of Shark Tank. Students from across the U.S., Malaysia, and Hong Kong participated. 


Cole was hand selected by Barbara Corcoran as the Grand Prize Winner. The Grand Prize includes a trip to New York City to meet and interview Shark Tank investor, Barbara Corcoran. Congratulations Cole!

Westlake High School student Lauryn was awarded second place in the contest. She will receive a $200 Stockpile Gift Card. Congratulations Lauryn!

Young Investors Society currently provides after-school financial literacy programs to over 400 high schools across the United States, including chapters at Westlake High, and Thousand Oaks High. Part of YIS's mission is, "to teach students to create life-changing habits to save and invest for the future."
