The Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Department is responsible for District and State-wide student testing at our CVUSD Schools. Assessments include state-mandated testing such as the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) System, California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS),  Physical Fitness (Fitnessgram or PFT) and district-mandated testing.

Our staff supports school personnel in administration of the above tests and surveys. We also support and administer Advanced Placement Exams (AP) and Preliminary Scholastic Achievement Tests (PSAT). SAT is handled by the College Board. This office is the designated District Test Coordinator for CVUSD.

Testing Announcements

2017 FitnessGramĀ® Testing (PFT)

Conejo Valley Unified administers the Physical Fitness Test to all of our 5th, 7th, and 9th grade students each year. The test window is from February 1 through April 30, 2017.  Student results are sent home with students at the end of the school year.

The test designated for this purpose by the State Board of Education is the Fitnessgram®. The Fitnessgram®, developed by The Cooper Institute, provides criterion-referenced standards to evaluate fitness. These standards represent minimum levels of fitness known to be associated with those health and physical characteristics that offer protection against diseases resulting from physical inactivity. Achievement of the fitness standards is based upon a score falling in the Healthy Fitness Zone (HFZ) for each of six fitness areas. The HFZ represents minimal levels of satisfactory achievement on the tasks. The goal is for students to achieve the HFZ for all six fitness areas of the physical fitness test.

2017 CAASPP Testing Window

The 2017 California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) testing is given statewide.

CAASPP testing will be administered to all students in English Language Arts and Math in grades 3-8 and 11. Grades 5, 8, and 10 or 12 will be given the Science pilot exam.

Our District's 2017 test window is from March 8 through June 13.

Each CVUSD school schedules their test dates within this window. Please check with your student's school for their school testing schedule.

2017 Advanced Placement (AP) Exams

Advanced Placement Exams will be given according to the College Board schedule, from May 1-12, 2017.

Registration is done at your High School in the Career and College Center. Please contact your student's high school if you have any questions.

All students will be able to view scores in the beginning of July. Students will receive an email from the College Board shortly before early access begins with reminders about how and when to access their scores. Students' online score reports will contain scores for all AP Exams they have taken. Paper score reports will no longer be mailed.

More information about exams can be found on the College Board website.
